About the Book:
The Counterfeit Tory by Shannon McNear

1781 – (South Carolina)

Tasked with infiltrating an infamous Tory gang, Jed Wheeler has no wish to endanger the leader’s cousin, Lizzy Cunningham. He risks not only his life. . .but his heart.

About the Author: Shannon McNear

Transplanted to North Dakota after more than two decades in Charleston, South Carolina, Shannon McNear loves losing herself in local history. She’s a military wife, mom of eight, mother-in-law of three, grammie of two, and a member of ACFW and RWA. Her first novella, Defending Truth in A Pioneer Christmas Collection, was a 2014 RITA® finalist. When not sewing, researching, or leaking story from her fingertips, she enjoys being outdoors, basking in the beauty of the northern prairies.

Renee's Faithful Review of The Counterfeit Tory:

History and fiction combine to take the reader on a journey where chaos reigns in the colonies. Shannon McNear pens a tale of intrigue and love, transporting you into the past where she reveals the Revolutionary War for all its worth, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You find an unsung hero hiding in the trenches who finds unexpected hope. The challenge he faces? Relaying that hope to the maiden he wants, no needs to rescue  in order to make their war-torn lives whole and complete.

I enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more of McNear's writing. This story is part of collection of Colonial Tales from America's Frontier by Barbour Books. I enjoyed Counterfeit Tory very much and give it 5 stars. Well done, Ms. McNear. Well done.
