On Your Knees

What in the world are you thinking? You can’t do that! It will never work and mark my words, you’ll regret it.
Have you ever heard these words? They are especially painful when undertaking a risky but heartfelt project or dream. What happens if the dream falls apart and the words are, in their own way, prophetic? What a quandary. Ever been there?
2 Cor. 13:11Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

New Beginnings

Shasta, our kitty

Hebrews 3:6But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. I’m trying to put into words what I feel right now. It’s hard. I’m overwhelmed with a lot of emotions. Worry and fear mixed with excitement creates quite the interesting ride. It’s not even figuring how to navigate the streets and highways of Waco. If nothing else, I’ll make James drive or buy anothe…

He drags himself out of bed with a groan and heads to the bathroom once again. I glance at the clock. Two o’clock in the morning. I hear the shower and close my eyes in anguish. Oh, how I wish I could wash his pain away like the water pouring over him right now. How much longer can he do this? How much longer can I?
Hebrews 12:1-2Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. He looks so tired today. I heard his computer game again last night so I know he didn’t sleep. He worries so much and I don’t know how to ease his mind. Where is he going to live? How much money will he have and when can he access it? Will he …
